A luxury boutique IHG hotel showcasing the crème de la crème of style screaming for a photo shoot anywhere you look inside their urban refuge. The plaid lines, reminiscent of Burberry, blended with classy alpine chic tones, will have you feeling elegant and timeless in this downtown chic chalet.

Kimpton Hotel Born Denver is easily accessible from the Denver International Airport (DIA), which is 23 miles away. From the airport, you can either rent a car or order a rideshare but for this hotel, our favorite option is jumping on the A train directly from the airport. This light rail will take you to Union Station downtown which is a stone’s throw away from where this hotel is located! If you do decide to drive, there is a covered valet and tons of self-park options nearby.
first impressions
One of the best parts of the Kimpton Hotel Born Denver is that, depending on what your plans are, you truly don’t need a car. Being so close to Union Station, this location is very accessible. Should you need a quick ride to Coors Field to catch a Rockies game or to Larimer Square for dinner at Rioja, the hotel provides a complimentary Tesla car service to anywhere within 1 mile of the hotel!
As many enticing activities as there are all around the hotel, your alpine chalet awaits you back at the Kimpton Hotel Born Denver. The lobby expands from the reception desk inviting you into a homey nook warmed by a corner fireplace. The fireplace area has beautiful wood paneling from the ceiling that pours down the walls with scattered bookshelves filled with great reading material. All we could think about was cozying up to the fire with a cup of hot cocoa and a blanket in this photogenic nook!

Being immersed in the heart of Denver comes with its perks. Located within the hotel, the modern American restaurant, Citizen Rail, provides soulfully rustic cooking in a warm cozy setting with ingredients sourced from local Colorado farms and fields. Every guest staying here receives a daily $10 credit/room/day to use at Citizen Rail. Our favs? The Apple + Pancetta starter and Olive Oil Gnocchi, washed down with the Far From Yokohama cocktail!

Adjacent to the Kimpton Hotel Born Denver is Tavernetta, Union Station’s newest Italian restaurant, featuring fresh handmade pasta, an all-Italian wine list, and small plates all influenced by travels throughout the boot of Italy. You cannot go wrong with the Lamb Ragu Rigatoni or the Pasta al Forno and a bottle of Tenuta Argentiera, Bolgheri Rosso Superiore, Bolgheri!

The Kimpton Hotel Born Denver provides an expansive amount of amenities, the majority being complimentary! Though there is a dedicated fitness center at the hotel, outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment including Peleton bikes, guests still receive complimentary access to the nearby Colorado Athletic Club Union Station. Other complimentary amenities include access to the Museum of Contemporary Art, the use of Kimpton’s branded bicycles to ride around town, and a hosted evening social hour every day in the lobby.
One of the most unique and progressive amenity offerings we’ve seen in any hotel is their complimentary On-Demand Family Fridge Program (Mini Me Milk Fridges) which helps guests safely store breast milk while staying with them. We don’t have kids yet (besides Disco of course…!) but this is one feature that we think is pretty dang cool!

Often times the lobby and the rooms in a hotel can give off different vibes and fortunately at the Kimpton Hotel Born Denver that is not the case. The hotel lobby, as impressive as it is, simply foreshadows what is to come with the unique and sophisticated design of the spacious 200 guest rooms (including 10 room types) at the Kimpton Hotel Born Denver.
With rooms accommodating solo leisure travelers with double queen and king options to suites offering comfortable arrangements for up to 8, the property has a great selection for any group size. Favorite room for a couple? The Urban Suite! For a larger group, the Innovator Suite will be a perfect choice! Views of the Rocky Mountains and Denver City are sure to impress with floor-to-ceiling windows so make sure you request a room high up!
One of our favorite accents in the rooms are the custom knotty pinewood canopy headboards that so perfectly compliment the sumptuous vintage hand-knotted area rugs. We came to learn that the rugs are sourced from a couple that crafts these out of Wyoming.
As if it can not get any better, all of the rooms have what we’ve coined an “elevated western ultra-modern aesthetic” that parties well with the art and lighting in each room. The bathroom adds a really nice break of color with a serene and airy feel with stone gray and mahogany wood tones. The bathtub was a giant soaker and the shower heads were rainfall just like we like them!
There are over 200 local works of art throughout the rooms and hotel from 32 of Denver’s most talented artists in conjunction with Denver’s Museum of Contemporary Art. We love these local partnerships and pops of color that take Kimpton Hotel Born Denver to the next level with the overall vibe they provide to guests.

Cooper Lounge: beautiful glamorous lounge on the mezzanine of Union Station overlooking the Great Hall. Fantastic spot for brunch – bottomless mimosas, brunch boards and espresso martinis…we’ll see you there!
Sunday Vinyl: a moody and eclectic sanctuary spinning vinyl and whipping up tasty cocktails and food. Less than a 1-minute walk from the hotel!
Museum of Contemporary Art: 2 blocks from the hotel and all guests get complimentary access! The exhibitions are incredible and there are always super cool and unique events held here!
Coors Field: only a few minutes walk from the hotel separates you from cheering on the Rockies at a MLB baseball game! One of the funnest seats in the house? The Rooftop in the upper right field – it has some of the best sunset views of the Rockies and a party atmosphere!

weather tips
When coming to Denver, you should always be prepared for four seasons! With that being said, Denver has some of the best weather year-round nationwide (hello 300 days of sunshine!) Always make sure to double check the weather before you pack and remember – layers are your friend! Denver does have a dryer climate as we are a mile closer to the sun so with the lack of moisture in the air, 50 degrees here is actually very enjoyable! Make sure to drink lots of water so you can have as much fun as possible in the Mile-High city!
